oppressed and afflicted.

been reading through/studying psalms for the past few days.... i am amazed at all the characteristics of the Father are shown in these chapters.... one that always sticks out is how He cares for the afflicted and oppressed. when you are oppressed, you usually have no hope. but our Creator cares so much for the oppressed and needy. He is our sustainer and refuge....

psalm 9:9-10
“the Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble, and those who know Your name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You”

psalm 9:12b
“He does not forget the cry of the afflicted”

psalm 10:17-18
“O Lord, You hear the desire of the afflicted, You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of earth may strike terror no more”

how much more should we be focused on the cry of the afflicted? on those who are oppressed...
